No. I'm not a fan. That's why I drew this. I thought I would just reintroduce the original metaphor for vampires as being sexual predators.
Notice in the classic vampire stories, the vampire needs human blood. Normally the vampire is a very handsome male, and desires the blood of a beautiful female. The victim is unknowingly lured to the vampire with lustful feelings. When the victim finally cir cums to the vampire's lures, he bites her neck, a gesture that appears to merely be the kissing that preludes sex. Then the blood is sucked from the woman's body, and she lies lifeless on the bed. The finale gesture symbolizes the raping of the woman and her innocents being drained from her.
Now with that metaphor carried into Twilight, is suggests we should tolorate and even love sexual predators. When Bella is finally bitten and becomes a vampire, she joins the metaphoric group that represents sexual predators. In a sense, Bella becomes a sexual predator herself.
So to stop these metaphors dead in their tracks (no pun intended), I drew the last date of Bella and Vampire Eddie; and in doing so stay true to the original metaphors of vampires as dangerous sexual predators (even if shown in a dark comedic light).
And, yes. Vampire Eddie is sparkling.
